Il Ponte Italian Exchange Program

Join us on an exciting cultural voyage across continents….Together we will speak in Italian and learn about the authentic Italian culture while making new friends!

Resuming in February 2022!  Gain Ville is pleased to continue its virtual Italian language and cultural exchange program made possible through our affiliate partnership with 10 e Lode learning center based in Carpi, Italy.

‘Il Ponte’ means Bridge in Italian.  By building a bridge with local Italian culture, the Il Ponte Italian Exchange is a language immersion and cultural enrichment program  that provides U.S. students with an authentic taste of the Italian culture through an exchange experience with students based in Italy.

By providing students on both sides of the Atlantic with the opportunity to learn and practice their language skills, this Italian conversation immersion program compares & contrasts cultural norms and traditions both in the U.S. and Italy.

Sessions are held bi-weekly with eight dates available through June 2022.

Open to Grades 2 through 8, students will participate both as a large group and in smaller breakouts with two moderators, one on the U.S. and the other on the Italian side.  (1st Graders who are culturally inclined are welcome to attend too!)

This exchange program is open to existing students currently attending classes at Gain Ville as well as new students who would like to be immersed in the language. Biweekly Il Ponte exchange sessions mirror the curriculum content offered to students in our Ciao Amici™ Italian language program and provides added value through cultural connections and engaging conversations.   

New for this Spring, parents/grandparents are welcome to join their children in-person and make it a fun family activity! We will be holding our Il Ponte Italian Conversation hour sessions in the theatre auditorium at our Ridgewood location and will have a large projection screen to see our conversation counterparts virtually – the Italian students at the eLode Learning Center.
