“Entry Into Your Career” Day

Gainville Learning Center with the participation of OfficeTeam Administrative Staffing Agency ( A Robert Half Company) will be holding a Career Building Workshop at the Gainville Learning Center at 17 Ames Avenue, Rutherford on January 19, 2012 entitled, “Entry Into Your Career.”

The workshop is targeted to those people entering, re-entering or in transition in their careers or occupations.  These can be recent high school or college graduates, housewives entering or re-entering the workplace, and unemployed workers looking to transition to new occupations and in need of honing existing skills or acquiring new ones.

The Workshop will include a keynote speaker from industry to give participants some insight into the state of the economy, job growth trends, and how to best position oneself for employment in the current marketplace.

Following the keynote speaker, OfficeTeam’s General Manager, Catharine DeLuccia will discuss the importance of the job interview.  She will also give information about occupations and industries that are currently providing employment opportunities and the skill sets that will make you the most desirable candidate for a job.

Gainville Learning Center will offer a number of career building tools including;

  • Resume Writing – Bring your resume and we will give you feedback and pointers on how to improve it.
  • Work Readiness Assessment – Are you the most valuable employee?  Discover where your strengths and weaknesses lie in terms of your work – readiness.
  • Look to the Future – Discuss with an Educational Counselor options for moving your career in the direction you would like to go and the tools that will help you get there including Test Preparation, College Preparation, Work Readiness and English as a Second Language, TOEFL Preparation, Academic Tutoring.
  • Mock Interview with OfficeTeam Staff –The first eight people signed up for the workshop will be offered a mock interview followed by a short conference/debrief with a member of the OfficeTeam staff. The OfficeTeam staffing professional will evaluate your interview ‘performance,’ offering tips on improving your interviewing skills as well as highlighting your strong points.

Cost of the Workshop: $25.00, includes coffee, tea and pastries.
